A 58-year-old Orlando man was killed after he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to cross Orange Blossom Trail last night.

The fatal accident took place near the intersection of Orange Blossom Trial and Americana Boulevard at around 8:49 p.m. on Friday, January 26.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the man was walking in an easterly direction from the raised grass median on OBT and was not in a marked crosswalk.

As a result, he entered the northbound lanes of the roadway in the direct path of a 2006 Lincoln Navigator being driven by a 36-year-old Orlando man.

The pedestrian was transported to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured in the crash and remained at the scene.
