Boodwah Mohabir, 88, died Tuesday, January 30th, 2024 at home. He died in the care of family and friends. Boodwah was born in Port Mourant, Guyana, South America on August 14th, 1935.

At a young age, he began to play cricket. He would eventually play for Guyana’s cricket team. Playing for the team gave him the opportunity to travel all over the West Indies, which he enjoyed immensely.

In 1959, he married, Sarswati Mohabir. Together, they created a home and family. As a husband and father, he worked as a bookkeeper to take care of his family.
In 1985, Boodwah and his family made a life changing decision to immigrate to New York. In NY, he and his family started from fresh, working hard to create a new life. In NY, he worked as a bank clerk and with his wife, was able to create a stable and comfortable home for his family.

In 2003, Boodwah retired. Once again, he decided to make another life changing decision. He moved to Florida. He enjoyed his retirement and his time in Florida. Retirement gave him an opportunity to spend time doing the things he loved: traveling, going to the beach, gardening, yoga and spending time with his family.

Boodwah leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Sarswati; his four daughters, Swarna, Shanta, Lata and Jaya; his three son-in-laws, Shyam, Harry, and Gian Carlo; his two grandchildren, Maya and Ettan; and numerous family members and friends.

He was a wonderful son, friend, husband, father, father-in-law and grandfather. He will be dearly missed.
