Teen who burglarized vehicles and homes ID’d and arrested in Deltona

Deputies have identified and arrested a Deltona teenager who they believe is responsible for burglarizing multiple vehicles and homes, including one that was occupied by a sleeping victim.

Dominick Tyler Adams, 18, was arrested on Friday, February 2 on multiple felony charges related to burglaries that he allegedly committed.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Adams is accused of entering a home on Sylvia Drive through an unlocked door in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 25.

While he was inside the home, Adams allegedly looked around for items to steal before finding cash.

The victim, who was sleeping while Adams was in her home, says she first discovered her home had been burglarized the next morning, when she noticed several doors in were ajar.

According to VCSO, Adams also allegedly attempted vehicle burglaries on Applegate Terrace and Armadillo Drive.

Among the items that detectives believe Adams has stolen are a pair of Apple AirPods and a handgun.

Adams is being charged with four counts of burglary of a vehicle, two counts of armed burglary of a vehicle, and one count of grand theft of a firearm. He is currently being held at the Volusia County Jail on $65,000 bond.
