A sushi restaurant on Sand Lake Road was forced to close for a few hours last week in order to address dozens of health code violations.
Amura Sushi temporarily closed its restaurant on Tuesday, February 6, after it was cited for 36 health code violations, according to a report by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Among the violations were 10 considered high priority, including the presence of live, small flying insects. A stop sale was issued for one of the products, and the report also notes that the establishment was operating without potable water.
The restaurant, which is located at 7786 Sand Lake Road, was temporarily closed and was permitted to reopen later that same day. During a follow-up inspection, only 11 violations were cited.
