Car, transformer destroyed by fire after accident in Casselberry

Two individuals were injured and a car and transformer both caught fire after an accident in Casselberry.

Seminole County Fire Department crews responded to the area of Seminola Blvd and Geneva Legacy Lane, near the entrance of Reserve at Legacy Park, at around 6:25 p.m. on Monday, February 12.

According to authorities, two vehicles were involved in an accident and one of the vehicles crashed into a transformer next to the roadway.

As a result, the vehicle and transformer both caught fire, resulting in a large blaze. The damage to the transformer caused a power outage that was addressed by Duke Energy.

Both drivers were taken to a local hospital with “non life-threatening injuries,” according to SCFD. Each vehicle only had one occupant at the time of the incident.
