Eudellee Cole-Powell

Eudellee Cole-Powell, 91, of Orlando, departed this life on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Eudellee was born in Clarendon, Jamaica, W.I. on September 1, 1932 to Zephaniah and Virginia Cole.

Her parents were Seventh Day Adventist tradition, that her biblical foundation which was kept throughout her life. She attended local primary and high schools, obtained her teachers degree and taught in several schools in Jamaica. Eudellee was also the local mid-wife delivering lots of babies and attending to their mothers before and after child-birth. In pursuit of the American dream, she migrated to the United States of America.

In 1969, she graduated from Bronx Community College with her nursing degree and worked in several hospitals. She furthered her education and earned a Master’s Degree from Hunter College. In 1989, she retired from nursing and relocated to Florida where she was an entrepreneur business woman. Eudellee was an active and faithful member of North Orlando SDA Church, where she served for several years, including as one of the Bible Study Leaders.

She would work on mission projects and in what ever capacity was needed to serve God and people until her call to rest. Eudellee was a loving and devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish and celebrate her legacy: daughters, Geneva (Baldwin) Hamilton, Delpherine Campbell, Marcia Reid, Patricia Reid, Sharon Atkinson; 4 adopted children, Christine, Andra, Alie and Matthew; sons, Bancroft (Idalee) Strachan, Trevor Atkinson; brothers, Roy Cole, Elisha Cole, Nathan (Nella) Cole, Roy Cole; sisters, Esther Graham, Mary Cole; 14 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, February 22, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mortuary.

A service of celebration will be held on Friday, February 23, 10:00 a.m. at North Orlando SDA Church, 4125 N. Hiawassee Road, Orlando with Pastor Gregory Carroll, officiating. Interment: Orlando Memorial Gardens, Apopka.
