A Cessna reportedly lost power and crashed in a wooded area north of DeLand early on Friday morning.
The crash took place at around 1:49 a.m. on February 16, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
A Cessna 172 being piloted by one individual began losing power. The vehicle crashed in the woods off Marsh Road, in a portion of Lake George State Forest. The crash was just northwest of DeLand.
According to VCSO, the pilot was alert and conscious when emergency personnel arrived at the scene. He was able to walk away from the aircraft with minor injuries.
No other passengers were on board at the time of the crash, according to VCSO.
The crash is currently being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration.
