Virginia Lauro

With great sorrow we announce the passing of Virginia Lauro on February 7, 2024. Virginia was surrounded by her family in her final days and passed away peacefully at the age of 86 after a short, aggressive, battle with cancer.

Virginia was born October 6, 1937 and raised in Brooklyn, New York where at a young age met the love of her life, Joseph Lauro. They attended school together and eventually became a couple. They were married years later and together went on to have four children. Their love stood the test of time and were inseparable. Our mother, Virginia, (aka Ginger/Ginny/Grandma/GG/Geeg), was a woman of strength and independence.

She was always reassuring, supportive and encouraging to all of us. She was one of the kindest and funniest women to ever walk this earth. She was a wonderful and loving mother and grandmother who gave her all to her family, and we were so blessed to have her. She made lasting impressions on many friends over her wonderful 86 years on this planet. She loved to shop (especially at Walmart), dance, garden, cook (can you smell the sauce and meatballs cooking?), watch football, and play games with the kids.

She had an infectious laugh that could brighten anyone’s day. We can imagine her smiling and at peace as she is reunited with all her loved ones that have already passed. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Ginger was predeceased by Joseph Lauro, her parents, John and Ann Jane, and her 15 siblings. She is survived by her 4 children (and their spouses)- Lisa , Kim , Joe , Tony; 4 grandchildren (and their spouses), and 5 great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 4th, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with a memorial service from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Baldwin Brothers Funeral Home located at 1654 N Semoran Blvd, Orlando, FL 32807.
