Donna Ann Leary of Winter Park, FL passed away on Thursday, February 8th, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born on March 21st, 1940, in Greenwich, CT to Nicholas and Mary Golia where she grew up with her brother Joseph and sister Marlene.
She graduated from Greenwich High School, the Nursing Program at Greenwich Hospital, and Saint Joseph’s College of Maine with a Master’s Degree in Administration. She worked her entire career at Greenwich Hospital, as a pediatric nurse, as Head Nurse in Pediatrics, and finally as Director of Admissions. Throughout her life, Donna was deeply committed to her family, the Catholic faith, education, and traveling the world with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents and other family members who she loved deeply.
Donna is survived by her husband of 63 years, Bill Leary of Winter Park; her children Erin of Minneapolis, MN; Bill (Tamra) of Winter Park, FL; Colleen of Norwalk, CT; Richard (Susan) of Smith Mountain Lake, VA; Steven of Winter Park, FL; Tom (Tanya) of Raleigh, NC; 21 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and many cousins as well as extended family. The family would like to thank all the staff and caregivers at Allegro Winter Park for the care and compassion they provided while Donna was in their care. We would especially like to thank Pauline Jones and Asia Bonilla. They especially treated Donna with the same love and kindness that Donna gave so many throughout her life.
A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at Resurrection Church in Rye, NY on April 20, 2024, followed by a Celebration of Life reception at a location to be determined.
