An Orlando man is facing up to 10 years in prison for allegedly smuggling firearms from the United States to Canada.
Jonen Castillo, 23, was indicted this week for allegedly smuggling firearms from the United States to Canada in 2023.
According to a statement issued by the U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg’s office, between June 10 and June 29, 2023, Castillo concealed and attempted to export the firearms.
The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.
No additional details were provided in the statement.
If he is convicted, Castillo faces up to 10 years in federal prison. A sentencing date has not yet been set in the case.
