A 40-year-old Orlando man was killed after his vehicle was struck head-on while he was attempting to turn from Orange Blossom Trail.
The fatal accident took place at around 5:15 a.m. on Monday, February 19, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The man was driving a 2011 Hyundai Sonata westbound on S Orange Blossom Trail, approaching the intersection of Ham Brown Road in the left turn lane.
As he attempted to make a left turn to travel south on Ham Brown Road, his vehicle entered the direct path of a 2006 Honda Civic. As a result, the front of the Hyundai struck the front of the Honda.
After the impact, the Honda ran off the roadway and collided with a concrete utility pole.
The driver of the Sonata was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the Honda, a 33-year-old man from Brandon, was also transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.
