Valerie Antoinette Batchelor, 69 of Apopka, departed this life on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Valerie was born on September 4, 1954 in Kingston, Jamaica, WI to Iris and Abraham Batchelor.
In pursuit of the American dream, she migrated to the United States of America, eventually settling down in Central Florida. Professionally, she worked as a patient care technician with AdventHealth for several years. She dedicated her life to her family, her faith and community. She was a former member of Lighthouse Deliverance Church, Apopka. Valerie instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her family to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Valerie is survived by her daughter, Samantha Roberts; brother, Owen (Laurie) Batchelor; sisters, Pauline Batchelor and Mary Batchelor; 1 granddaughter, Alexandria Hill; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the mortuary.
A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, 601 S. Highland Avenue, Apopka with Rev. Ruth Diehl, officiating. Interment: Greenwood Cemetery, Apopka.
