Thelma D. Benoit, 74, of Orlando, departed this life on Monday, February 19, 2024. Thelma was born on December 10, 1949 in Dooling, Georgia to the late Lillie Mae and Belvin Woods.
Thelma was employed with Harley Hotels for several years. She dedicated her life to her family, her faith and community. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, dancing and fishing. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all her children and family to follow. She was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Thelma is survived by her 2 daughters, Gwendolyn (Larry) Hayes, Kathie (Stanley Childs) Woods; brother, John Woods; 7 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 1, 2024 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the chapel.
A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2024, 12:00 Noon at New Beginnings Family Church, 3249 Old Winter Garden Road, Ste. #19, Orlando, with Rev. Benjamin Randy, officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.
