A driver was killed after their vehicle left an Orange County roadway, crashed into a bridge support, and became engulfed in flames.
The fatal accident took place at around 2:58 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
The motorist, who has not been identified by authorities, was driving a 2021 Hyundai Tucson north on State Road 520, just south of State Road 528.
For unknown reasons, the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and into the grass median.
After leaving the roadway, the vehicle collided with a concrete bridge support and became engulfed in flames.
The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No additional details were provided and the Medical Examiner’s office is working to positively identify the remains.
