Jodi Fuller died peacefully, on February 23, 2024. She was born April 27, 1934, in Atlanta, Georgia to Robert and Frances (Collinsworth) Smith.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Fuller of Orlando, son Chris Fuller of Haines City and grandchildren, Annika and Adam Fuller as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years The Reverend Ralph Vernon Fuller.

Jodi grew up in Atlanta graduating from Bass High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Emory University. While in Atlanta, she was very active in the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ youth group where she cultivated many lifelong friends. It was at a Disciples’ Student Fellowship Retreat in Atlanta where she met Vernon. Upon their graduations from college, they were married in Atlanta. They lived in Georgia, Kentucky, and settled in Florida, where they raised their two children.

While in Orlando Jodi attended the University of Central Florida and received master’s degrees in Teaching and Counseling. Jodi had several different careers starting as an RN in hospitals in both Georgia and Kentucky. When she moved to Florida, she was a nursing instructor at Orange County Vo-Tech and also served as a Hospice Nurse. She worked for Hospice until her retirement, finishing her career as a Grief Counselor. It was in these capacities that her nursing skills and compassion were most evident.

Jodi was a strong supporter of the Camp and Conference Ministry of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ. She served in this ministry as nurse, counselor and director of the summer camps. She instilled the love of church camp in both Cathy and Chris. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, was an avid reader, and her most favorite hobby was following the Atlanta Braves baseball team. She loved those Braves!

Jodi’s family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers from Sandcastle that took such good care of her, especially Leeza, Anjee and Muriam.

A celebration of life service for Jodi will be held Sunday March 10, at 3:00 p.m. at Community Christian Church, 6800 Lake Underhill Rd, Orlando, Fl 32822.
