Janelle was devoted to family life and before her own children doted on her niece Olivia taking her on various excursions and to theme parks.

Her close bond continued and Violet and Scarlet saw Olivia as a big sister. A very close bond remained with her parents until her passing, they were always on hand to offer support in what ever form they could. Janelle loved to travel both domestically and abroad. She did not give in easily and was an inspiration to many, this could be seen as the news of her passing prompted an enormous amount of well-wishers to offer their condolences.
