Ty Madison Shinneman

Ty Madison Shinneman was born on March 31, 2005 and passed away on February 26, 2024 at the young age of 18 years old. He left behind his mother and father, Lisa and Troy Shinneman of Longwood, Florida, his siblings, Micheal Mooney of Casselberry, Florida, Priscilla Shoaff of Tavares, Florida and Morgan Shinneman of Longwood, Florida. He also left behind several nieces and nephews, along with his grandfather, Gerald (Jerry) Wolford of Indianapolis, Indiana.

He is survived by his uncles Travis Madison Shinneman of Indianapolis, Indiana and Micheal Brummett of Sanford, Florida.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Mooney of Longwood, Florida and his paternal grandmother, Beth Wolford of Indianapolis, Indiana.

Ty went to Wekiva Elementary School, Rock Lake Middle School, and Lake Brantley High School. Throughout his academic career, he enjoyed football, track and field, and even JROTC. He was often seen volunteering at Wekiva for various events and even tagging along with his best friend Kiwi the Koala during the bookfair seasons. When he was not at the schools, he spent his free time fishing and working with his father on various jobs outside.

He loved animals of all kinds, especially the reptiles. He was also known as “Turtle Ty” for his love of sea turtles and moving very slowly when he did not want to do something at that particular moment in time. Ty loved teaching his nephew Levi, how to fish and bawk like a chicken. These were his favorite activities to do anytime they were together. They always greeted each other with a “Buk buk buk buk ba-gawk!” He was a very lovable person, and could hold conversations with anyone who he ran into.

Everyone who knew Ty knew that he could get away with anything due to his charming personality. But mostly he used his charm for good, ready to lend a hand with anyone who needed it. He had a major sweet tooth and could always be seen with any sort of sweet snack, but his favorites were gummies whether it was Welch’s fruit snacks or his annual giant gummy bunny on Easter.
