Kay Joan Rogero, 86, of Sanford Florida, passed away on March 11, 2024 after a prolonged illness. Kay was born on April 7, 1937 to Jack and Cleo (Fix) Johnson in Melbern, Ohio.
She graduated from Defiance High School in 1956 and went on to study education at Defiance College where she served as president of Chi Omega Sorority. While she had many careers throughout her life, her favorite position was working as University Administrator of Northwood University.
Kay enjoyed traveling, cooking and art but her biggest passion was creating a sense of family. Her door was always open for anyone who needed a hug, a meal or just someone to listen. She married Warren John Rogero in 1984 and immediately became a combination mom/best friend to his three children, Julie, Jeff and Regan. Kay was predeceased by husband Warren Rogero, grandson Jonathan Rogero, sister Barbara Kochensparger and brother Royal “Fuzz” Ward.
She is survived by sister, Janet Brown, children Julie, Jeff and Regan, granddaughters Amanda and her husband Josh, Sarah and her husband John, Nicole, and Emily, great-grandson Wade and great-granddaughter Roselyn along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
