It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Ernesto Caicedo. He departed from this world on Saturday, March, 16, 2024 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 7, 1937 in Cali, Colombia, and worked as an accountant for the state government in Cali then moved to USA in 1967. He met his wife Edith Gomez and they were married on June 29, 1968. He was the oldest of 7 siblings – a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Ernesto left behind a legacy of love, strength, and wisdom that we will forever cherish.
He was the son of Manuel Caicedo and Judith Delgado from Cali, Colombia. He was a devoted family member and was always willing to help his family and friends with anything they needed. He was a dedicated soccer fan and loved his team, America de Cali. He was an avid poker player who enjoyed getting together with his friends to play games like parcheesi and dominos. Ernesto loved music, especially boleros, mariachis and tangos. He was also a great dancer. He became a father figure at a very early age to his four youngest siblings after his father passed.
Ernesto is predeceased by his brother Henry Caicedo.
He is survived by his wife Edith of Kissimmee and his children Adriana Caicedo, Eduardo Caicedo, and Alicia St Jean (spouse Dennis St Jean). He is also survived by his grandchildren Ashley Parraga, Robert Parraga, Krystal Rodriguez, Giovanni St Jean, Daniel St Jean and JJ Caicedo and great grandchildren Nikolas and Olivia Ramirez. Siblings Hilda Gomez, Judy Caicedo Donnelly, Mireya Caicedo Gil, Doris Caicedo Bennett and Joseph Caicedo.
