Semi-truck driver killed in crash at I-4 exit ramp in Orlando

A 60-year-old man was killed on Monday evening after his semi-truck crashed on an Interstate 4 exit ramp in Orange County.

At around 8:05 p.m., the semi-truck was traveling eastbound on the I-4 exit ramp to State Road 536 (also known as World Center Drive) in Orlando, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol.

FHP stated that while on the exit ramp, the semi-truck proceeded to veer off the roadway for an unknown reason before crashing into several trees.

The driver and sole occupant of the semi-truck was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His name was not released by FHP.

A trooper noted in the report that the semi-truck’s driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Due to the accident, the I-4 eastbound exit ramp to State Road 536 was temporarily shut down on Monday night.

According to FHP, the crash remains under investigation.
