The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a 26-year-old man who was found unresponsive in a residential pool over the weekend.

VCSO deputies responded to a home located in the 900 block of Loren Drive in Deltona on Saturday, March 30, after receiving a report that someone had drowned in a pool.

According to the sheriff’s office, a man, identified as Tyrone McQueen, Jr., was found unresponsive in the pool late on Saturday. A family member and neighbor told deputies that they had searched the property for McQueen since he had not been seen all day.

The responding deputies pulled McQueen from the pool, but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

In a social media post, VCSO stated that “no indications of foul play” were found during the initial investigation. The sheriff’s office added that it appears that McQueen had an “accidental fall into the pool.”

The investigation into McQueen’s death is still active, pending full autopsy results, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.
