The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office is now leading the investigation into the disappearance of a 25-year-old woman and her husband after authorities found the bodies of two individuals near her vehicle.
Earlier this month, on Saturday, April 6, Claudia Pena was last seen by her family in the area of Pesca Drive and Baleno Lane in Kissimmee. The following day, Pena and her husband, Nicolas Alvarez, were reported as missing to the Kissimmee Police Department.
On Friday, April 19, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office announced that a car belonging to Pena was located, and the remains of two individuals were found nearby in a wooded area.
“Some of the clothing on the remains found in the wooded area are consistent with the clothing of the missing person, Ms. Claudia Pena,” stated OCSO in a social media post.
However, the sheriff’s office stated that the human remains have not been positively identified by the Medical Examiner’s Office.
According to OCSO, an ongoing investigation has led detectives to believe that this is an “isolated incident” that poses no outstanding threats to the public.
No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office.
