Update: The SUV owner’s service dog, Thor, has been found and is safe. According to the sheriff’s office, Thor was found walking around in an apartment complex a short distance away from the hotel where the vehicle was stolen on Wednesday afternoon.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation after a family’s SUV and service dog were stolen from a local hotel on Wednesday afternoon.

At around 1:30 p.m., a 2009 gray Kia Sorrento with Florida tag LEXH94 was stolen from the Hilton Garden Inn Orlando at SeaWorld (6850 Westwood Boulevard in Orlando), according to OCSO.

Inside the SUV was the owner’s service dog named Thor.

In a social media post on Wednesday afternoon, the sheriff’s office stated that the stolen SUV has rear damage, and paint is peeling on the hood.

“Our detectives are doing everything possible to locate the car and bring Thor back safe,” added OCSO.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office.
