Carlos Mencia coming to Orlando Funny Bone

Comedian Carlos Mencia will make a two-day stop in Orlando as part of his national comedy tour this June.

On Friday, June 28, Mencia will headline a show at the Orlando Funny Bone Comedy Club (9101 International Drive, Suite 2310, in Orlando). Doors open at 6 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m.

Mencia will return to the Orlando Funny Bone on Saturday, June 29, for additional performances at 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Doors open an hour before both shows.

Best known for his raw and unfiltered style of comedy, Mencia has found success on comedy stages, as well as in television shows and movies.

Early in his career, Mencia became a regular at The Comedy Store, performing nightly. He was named International Comedy Grand Champion from Buscando Estrellas (Latin Star Search), and he eventually landed roles on several shows including “In Living Color,” “The Arsenio Hall Show,” and “An Evening at the Improv.”

In 2002, Mencia was nominated for a CableACE Award in the Best Stand-Up Comedy Special category for his HBO special. Comedy Central soon took notice, leading to his popular comedy series “Mind of Mencia,” which ran for four seasons.

After the first season of “Mind of Mencia,” the comedian recorded an original stand-up special titled “Carlos Mencia: No Strings Attached.” This special became the first Comedy Central stand-up special DVD to achieve platinum sales status.

Throughout his lengthy comedy career, Mencia has headlined shows across the country and internationally. He has also appeared on the big screen, starring opposite Ben Stiller and Michelle Monaghan in “The Heartbreak Kid,” and in the family-comedy “Our Family Wedding” with America Ferrara and Forrest Whitaker.

Tickets are currently available for the upcoming shows in Orlando, ranging from $32 to $62.
