The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a murder suspect who allegedly shot and killed a 50-year-old man in December.
Last month, VCSO detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging 36-year-old Joel Alonzo-Cisneros with second-degree murder in connection with the shooting death of 50-year-old Hector Hernandez Pasquale.
The fatal shooting occurred on December 2, 2023. That night, at around 10:45 p.m., VCSO deputies responded to reports of an incident in the front yard of a home located in the 800 block of S Massachusetts Avenue in DeLand.
Upon arrival, deputies found an adult victim, later identified as Pasquale, who was unconscious in the front yard of the home. He had sustained a gunshot wound, and he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A homicide investigation was launched, which eventually led VCSO detectives to identifying Alonzo-Cisneros as a suspect. No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office regarding this case.
