Michael Imperato

Our son, Michael Imperato, a loving brother, nephew, cousin and uncle has gone to be with the Lord.

Uncle Michael, a role he embraced and cherished, celebrated his 28th birthday May 1 before departing to fly with the angels May 15.

A limb from our family tree has fallen; but we are confident Michael has found peace. Michael had a special relationship with the lord since a young age. He used to see angels all the time and we take great comfort in knowing he is resting safe and warm in their embrace now. Michael was full of life; he loved anything to do with water: fishing, surfing, jet skiing, boating … but his favorite was building salt water fish tanks. Michael was the ‘fun-cle’ — he did all the fun things with his nieces and nephew which will provide us a lifetime of smiles in remembrance. Michael’s love for his mom — and her’s in return — transcends all worldly planes which neither time nor space can dim. His light will be greatly missed by all.

Michael is survived by his mother, who he was a true extension of, Terri Imperato; his father, Frank Imperato; his sister (who was his favorite person), Kimberly Donley, and husband Charles Donley; nephew, Louie DiFazio; nieces, Carmella DiFazio and Aurora Donley; stepfather, Kevin Bergman, who never stopped trying to help Michael. He is also loved and missed by aunts, Denise Johnson and Jodi Abdy, who were his biggest cheerleaders; uncles David Abdy and Ray Dawkins, who were constant positive influences in his life. Also mourning our loss are Michael’s cousins, who were more like siblings: Ashley, and husband Paul Kelly; Brandon and Alex Abdy; Ethan Johnson; Caylin, Kira, Raymond and Samual Dawkins. Godmothers Judy Graff and Annette Urso, both of whom loved Michael generously and endlessly, will continue to carry his light. His stepbrother, Michael Bergman, and a community of friends and supporters who adored him — both known and unknown to us — complete the circle of love surrounding our dear Michael.
