A 42-year-old Orlando man was killed after he crashed into a tree and was ejected from his SUV on Friday night.
The fatal accident took place shortly before 11:50 p.m. on Friday, May 24, near the intersection of Goldenrod Road and Snyder Drive in Orlando.
According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, a 2010 Cadillac SRX was traveling northbound in the inside lane on Goldenrod Road. As the SUV approached the intersection of Snyder Drive, the vehicle veered off the roadway for unknown reasons.
FHP stated that the SUV traveled onto the right shoulder before colliding with a tree. The impact caused the vehicle to overturn several times.
An FHP trooper noted in the report that the driver and sole occupant of the SUV was not wearing a seatbelt. As the SUV overturned, the man was ejected from the vehicle.
The driver sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. His name was not released by FHP.
The report stated that the crash is still under investigation.
