Second Orange County deputy arrested for allegedly falsifying time sheets, stealing over $10K

A second Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputy has been accused of stealing over $10,000 after he allegedly falsified time sheets.

According to OCSO, a recent criminal investigation led to the arrest of Sergeant Jeffrey Bogen on Thursday, May 30. He is facing felony charges of grand theft ($10,000 or more) in connection with the falsification of time sheets.

Bogen was hired by the sheriff’s office in October of 2001. Due to the ongoing investigation, he has been relieved of all law enforcement duties without pay while the criminal case is underway.

Earlier this month, OCSO announced that one of its corporals, Oxilise Jeannot, has been charged with felony grand theft ($5,000 or more) and scheme to defraud in connection with the falsification of time sheets, according to OCSO.

Jeannot has worked for OCSO since September of 2017. Due to the ongoing criminal case, she has also been relieved of all law enforcement duties without pay.

Once the criminal proceedings have concluded, an OCSO administrative investigation will be conducted, and the results of that investigation will be made public.

On Thursday afternoon, Orange County Sheriff John Mina released the following statement regarding Sergeant Bogen’s arrest:

“Deputies at the Orange County Sheriff’s Office are held to the highest ethical standards, and we will not tolerate anyone breaking the law within our ranks.”

No further details were provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
