Orlando biker gang member found guilty of murder after dispute with another biker club

A member of a local motorcycle club has been found guilty of murder in connection with a 2021 shooting outside a party in Orlando that left one man dead and another wounded.

On Monday, June 3, 2024, an Orange County jury found 26-year-old Tahj Williams guilty of second-degree murder with a firearm and attempted second-degree murder with a firearm in connection with the fatal shooting.

According to the State Attorney’s Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit, members of an Orlando-based motorcycle club, the Chosen Few, attempted to gain entrance to a party that was being held on September 11, 2021, at the Elks Lodge located at 12 N Primrose Avenue.

The hosts of the party, another motorcycle club called the Aftermath Riders, refused to let the Chosen Few members inside. As members of the Chosen Few began to leave the area, Williams pointed a handgun at a crowd that was gathered near the Elks Lodge entrance.

Williams then proceeded to “indiscriminately (fire) several rounds” into the crowd. A man standing near the entrance to the lodge, identified as 49-year-old Rajah Graham, was fatally struck by the gunfire.

A second male victim sustained a non-fatal wound to his ankle during the shooting.

Detectives with the Orlando Police Department launched an investigation and obtained video surveillance footage from the Elks Lodge and nearby traffic cameras. This footage showed the group fleeing the area after shots were fired.

OPD managed to track down several members of the Chosen Few, and detectives learned that Williams was the suspected shooter. In addition, several witnesses also provided a description of the shooter that matched Williams.

After obtaining an arrest warrant, OPD’s Fugitive Investigative Unit tracked down Williams and apprehended him. While searching Williams’ apartment, detectives found a handgun, which is believed to be the murder weapon, in two separate pieces.

A jury ultimately found Williams guilty as charged following a five-day trial. The presiding judge has ordered a pre-sentence investigation to help determine an appropriate sentence.

A sentencing hearing for Williams is scheduled to take place on Monday, July 8.
