Paul V. Overeem, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on May 19th, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. Born on August 15th, 1953, Paul was a cherished member of the community, known for his warmth, generosity, and infectious enthusiasm for life and for his classic life stories about Brooklyn, NY.
Paul is survived by his devoted wife, Jacqueline Overeem; his children Paula, Jared, and Priscilla; his stepchildren Gina and Jason; his grandchildren Paulie, Madison, and Juliet; and his step-grandchildren Brogan, Elliot, Benjamin, and Nathan. Each of them was deeply touched by his love and unwavering support.
A pillar of the community, Paul was the proud owner of NYPD Pizza, a beloved local establishment where friends and neighbors gathered to enjoy delicious food and good company. His passion for his business was matched only by his love for his family and the joy he found in spending time with them.
Paul’s greatest joy came from family vacations, particularly the cruises he took with his loved ones. These trips were filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable memories. Paul also had a deep love for music, especially the timeless classics of Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra. He delighted in singing their songs, bringing joy to all who had the pleasure of hearing him.
Paul’s legacy of love, kindness, and community spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
