Two suspects accused of using stolen gun to shoot Orlando man in College Park

Two suspects were arrested by Orlando police after they allegedly robbed and shot a man in College Park on Sunday morning.

At around 5:40 a.m. on Sunday, June 9, Orlando Police Department officers responded to a home located on N Ivanhoe Boulevard in reference to shots being fired.

According to OPD, two suspects – identified as 24-year-old Kenny C. Mason and 25-year-old James T. Houston – approached a male victim as he was leaving his residence. The suspects then allegedly attempted to rob the victim at gunpoint.

When the victim attempted to go back inside his home, the police department stated that he was shot by one of the suspects.

The victim was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. His name and age were not released by law enforcement.

OPD officers believe that Mason and Houston were in the area to burglarize multiple vehicles. In addition, officers learned that the firearm used in the shooting had been stolen from an unlocked car, according to the police department.

Mason and Houston were apprehended by officers, and they were transported to Orange County Jail. Both suspects are facing numerous charges that include burglary, robbery, aggravated battery, and attempted murder.

In a media release, the Orlando Police Department stated that an investigation into the shooting incident is ongoing.
