Carolyn May Sawyer

Carolyn Rauner Sawyer of Orlando, Florida was born on August 23, 1933, in Fort Wayne, Indiana to parents Julia and Emmett Rauner. She passed away peacefully on June 2, 2024 with family and friends by her side.

Carolyn moved to Central Florida in 1975, where she raised her seven children. She returned to college and graduated from the University of Central Florida in 1985 with the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. She was also an avid & expert bridge player.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Jeniffer Sawyer Oropeza and her son Michael Sawyer Curtis.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth S. Buning of Jacksonville, FL, Michele K. Sawyer of Winter Park, FL, Margaret S. Kearney of Daytona Beach, FL, Thomas D. Sawyer (Lynn), Winter Park, FL, Matthew D. Sawyer (Tammy) of New Smyrna Beach, FL, Joesph C. Sawyer (Mary Ann) of Orlando, FL, her sisters, Marge Morken, Ft. Wayne, IN and Judy Borden of California. She has 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

A Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church at 5125 Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, Florida on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow service at Orlando Memorial Gardens at 5264 Ingram Road Apopka, FL 32703.
