In 1968 they adopted their first child, Melanie, an artist, founder of the charity, Backpacks of Hope, and an avid plant lover and gardener like her father.

In 1970 they had their second child, Skipper, who went on to get his master’s degree in theology from Yale Divinity, and his doctorate in education from Columbia University. He is currently the principal at McCulloch Intermediate School in Dallas, Texas, where he lives with his two daughters, Kate and Kara, and his wife Melinda.

Cliff taught school in Orlando from 1957 until he retired in 1985. During his time with the Orange County Public Schools System he taught history, driver’s education, and was also a guidance counselor. He was a man of God, a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, as well as an avid plant lover and gardener. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
