Two people were rushed to the hospital on Wednesday afternoon after their plane crashed in Volusia County.

At around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26, witnesses reported that a small plane had crashed in the vicinity of Lake Molly Avenue near DeLand, according to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

When first responders arrived on scene, the plane’s two unidentified occupants were “conscious and alert.” They were then transported to a local hospital as trauma alerts.

No further details were provided regarding the cause of the crash or the condition of the plane’s occupants.

The sheriff’s office stated that the Federal Aviation Administration has been notified.
