Man shot and killed in neighborhood near downtown Orlando

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in an Orlando neighborhood that claimed the life of a man early Thursday morning.

At around 12:10 a.m. on Thursday, June 27, OCSO deputies responded to the intersection of 35th Street and Woods Avenue, which is near downtown Orlando, in reference to shots being fired in the area.

When deputies arrived, they found a man in his 30s who had sustained a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his fatal injuries.

The victim has been identified by law enforcement as 35-year-old Vicente Nuno Ramirez.

Shortly after 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, OCSO stated in a media release that an investigation into the fatal shooting is in the “very early” stages.

No further details were provided by the sheriff’s office regarding the shooting incident or any possible suspect(s).
