Robert Lewis Barnes

Robert Lewis Barnes, known affectionately as Pastor Bob, passed away on June 23, 2024, at the age of 88 in Winter Springs, FL.

Bob was born on December 10, 1935 in Holladay, TN to Johnnie and Ruth Barnes (both deceased). He graduated from Humes High School in Memphis in 1954. He earned his Bachelor, Masters and Doctorate degrees from Jacksonville Theological Seminary.

Bob dedicated his life to serving others. He pastored five churches across Tennessee, Arkansas, and Florida. Bob served honorably in the United States Marine Corps and later in the Army Reserve.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Rillis, his son Jeffrey (Karen) Barnes, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and cherished cousins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathryn, in 2017.

Bob will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He leaves a legacy of faith in Jesus Christ, love for his community, and a life of service which will continue to inspire all those who were blessed to know him.
