The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a homicide investigation after a 13-year-old girl died in Orlando on Thursday.
According to OCSO, at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, deputies responded to the 4400 block of S Rio Grande Avenue in reference to a teen girl who was found unresponsive.
When deputies arrived on scene, they located the girl and observed that she had “obvious signs of trauma.” She was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.
The victim has been identified by law enforcement as 13-year-old Rose Thalie Dieujuste.
“Right now, our Homicide detectives are working tirelessly to uncover any information that could lead them to the person who murdered Rose,” stated the sheriff’s office in a media release on Friday afternoon.
No further details were released by OCSO regarding the homicide case or any potential suspect(s).
