With deep sorrow and profound pain in every corner of our hearts, we announce the passing of Juana Cecilia Alfonso, who we all lovingly called Melida. She peacefully left this world on June 21, 2024. Born on August 18, 1943, in Panama City, Republic of Panama, she came to the United States in 1976.

She was a fighter, hardworking and an exemplary woman for many. She never gave up, persevered and conquered every challenge that life steered her way with God always by her side.

Juana was a loyal devout Christian who served our Lord Jesus Christ by becoming a cursillista for many years at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Juana was and will always be a cherished and respected person by all who have known her and she will forever live in our hearts


Beloved wife of Lazaro, caring mother of Estela, Marquia, Allain, devoted grandmother of Austin Jr., Priscilla, Justyn, Isabella, Jahiyzen, Azelania, great-grandmother of Thomas Maverick and sister of Pedro, Teodolinda, Margarita, Alicia, Carlos, Leopoldo and Luis.

Juana left a legacy of love, dedication to family, and a passion for life, sharing her wisdom and experiences with all. Her kind spirit will live on eternally in our hearts.
