A 52-year-old acupuncture doctor in Clermont was arrested last week after a female patient accused him of sexually battering her.

According to the Clermont Police Department, on July 2, the adult patient/victim contacted a CPD officer shortly after leaving Acupuncture Clermont, which is located at 221 Frontage Road within the city limits.

The victim told the officer that while she was in an exam room with a doctor, identified as Andrew Walsh, she was “inappropriately touched and sexually battered” by him.

An investigation was launched by CPD, and officers executed a search warrant at Acupuncture Clermont.

No further details were provided by Clermont police regarding the alleged incident or the search that was conducted at Walsh’s business.

On July 2, Walsh was arrested and transported to Lake County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond. A court date has not yet been scheduled.

“This investigation is ongoing at this time,” stated the Clermont Police Department in a social media post on Monday afternoon. “[We] would like to encourage anyone with further information, or who may be a victim themselves, to come forward.”
