VIDEO: Person of interest sought in murder of 13-year-old girl in Orlando

Homicide detectives in Orange County are asking for help from the public to identify a person of interest who is wanted for questioning in connection with the death of a 13-year-old girl.

In a media release on Wednesday, July 10, OCSO released photos and video footage of a man who is “a person of interest in the July 4 murder of 13-year-old Rose Dieujuste.”

According to the sheriff’s office, at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, deputies responded to the 4400 block of S Rio Grande Avenue in reference to a teen girl who was found unresponsive.

When deputies arrived on scene, they located 13-year-old Rose Thalie Dieujuste and observed that she had “obvious signs of trauma.” She was rushed to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

“Right now, our Homicide detectives are working tirelessly to uncover any information that could lead them to the person who murdered Rose,” stated the sheriff’s office in a media release on Friday, July 5.

Five days later, OCSO stated in an update that its detectives are “working this case very hard.” According to the sheriff’s office, the homicide investigation is still in the “early stages,” and no further details are being provided at this time to avoid hurting the ongoing investigation.

If you have any information regarding Rose Thalie Dieujuste’s death, or if you recognize the person of interest, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office asks that you contact the Central Florida Crimeline by calling 1-800-423-TIPS(8477) or clicking here to submit an online report.

If you use Crimeline and your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000.

“Our detectives are doing everything they can to catch Rose’s murderer and need the community’s help,” stated the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “No detail is too small.”
