The progressive rock band Asia is bringing their Heat of the Moment Tour to Orlando this weekend.
On Saturday, July 20, the band will take the stage at Hard Rock Live Orlando, which is located at 6050 Universal Boulevard in Orlando. The three-hour concert will begin at 7 p.m.
Asia has entertained millions of fans over the last four decades. Formed in 1982 by John Wetton, Geoffrey Downes, Carl Palmer, and Steve Howe, the band’s founding members were responsible for a string of multi-million selling albums and chart topping hits.
The band’s self-titled debut album was released in 1982. It remains their best-selling album, topping the charts in several countries. The album’s lead single, “Heat of the Moment,” reached the top 40 in over a dozen markets, and the song reached number 1 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.
Asia has gone on to release 13 albums, including Alpha, Astra, Aqua, Phoenix, and the most recent Gravitas.
Over the years, some of the world’s greatest musicians have performed for Asia. However, founding member Geoffrey Downes feels that the time is right to bring a “fresh, new-look Asia” to concertgoers.
This Saturday, Geoffrey Downes will be joined on the Hard Rock Live Orlando stage by new members John Mitchell and Harry Whitley, with Virgil Donati on drums.
Tickets are still available for the upcoming concert, ranging from $52 to $99.
