The Florida Highway Patrol is searching for the three occupants of a vehicle that was involved in a hit-and-run crash on Interstate 4 in Orange County late Sunday morning.
The crash occurred on I-4 westbound at around 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 14, near mile marker 67.
According to FHP, a red 2017 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling westbound on I-4 when the driver attempted to change lanes from the center lane to the inside lane. During the lane change, the front of the Camero struck the left rear section of an SUV that was in the center lane.
The impact caused the SUV to veer off the roadway onto the right shoulder, where the vehicle overturned. The driver and sole occupant, a 20-year-old woman, was not injured.
FHP stated that the three occupants of the Camaro fled from the scene on foot before being picked up by a gray or silver vehicle. The make and model of the vehicle in question is currently unknown.
An FHP trooper noted in a preliminary report that witnesses described the three occupants as “black or Hispanic males possibly in their early 20s.”
If anyone has any information regarding the Chevrolet Camaro or its occupants, the Florida Highway Patrol asks that you dial *FHP (*347) or contact the Central Florida Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS(8477).
