A 49-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder in connection with a fatal shooting on Lake Underhill Road in Orlando that claimed the life of another man on Friday morning.

At around 9 a.m. on Friday, August 9, Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 7300 block of Lake Underhill Road after receiving reports of a shooting in the area. When they arrived, they found a man in his 40s who had sustained a gunshot wound.

The male victim was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. He was later identified by law enforcement as 48-year-old Steve Torruella Rodriguez.

Shortly after 11:30 a.m. on Friday, OCSO stated in a media release that all individuals involved in this incident remained at the scene. The sheriff’s office added that the investigation is “active and ongoing.”

In an update on Friday evening, OCSO stated that the investigation led detectives to identifying Pablo Rafael Lantigua Cabral, 49, as a murder suspect in this case.

Lantigua Cabral was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder with a firearm.

No further details were provided by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office regarding the homicide investigation or Lantigua Cabral’s alleged involvement in the shooting.
