Prison bars on dark background

An Orlando man who produced multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse of children will spend the next five decades behind bars.

On Friday, August 16, U.S. District Judge Wendy W. Berger sentenced 43-year-old Brian Hamilton to 50 years in federal prison for production and receipt of child sexual abuse material.

Hamilton pleaded guilty to the charges on March 27, 2024.

According to court records, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) began investigating Hamilton after cyber tips indicated that he had distributed child sexual abuse material online.

On October 11, 2023, the FBI executed a search warrant at Hamilton’s home, where they located numerous videos on his laptop that depicted the sexual abuse of children.

Hamilton admitted to investigators that he had sexually abused one of the children shown on the videos, and he further stated that he had done so to “get even” with that child’s parent. In addition, Hamilton admitted to sexually abusing the child on multiple occasions, including in a public bathroom.

“Compassion for the victims is what drives our agents to work these incredibly disturbing cases,” said FBI Tampa Division Special Agent in Charge Matthew Fodor. “While (last week’s) sentencing ensures the end of this defendant’s despicable crime, the FBI continues its effort to expose those preying on the innocent and make certain justice is served.”

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and it was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Stephanie McNeff.

Additionally, this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched by the Department of Justice in May of 2006 to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
