Orlando man dies after truck collides with tree on SR 417

A 32-year-old Orlando man died on Thursday night after his pickup truck crashed into a tree on State Road 417 in Seminole County.

According to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol, the fatal crash occurred on State Road 417 shortly after 9:25 p.m. on Thursday, August 22.

FHP stated that a 2004 GMC Sierra pickup truck was traveling southbound on State Road 417, near mile marker 40, when the driver lost control of the vehicle.

The pickup truck proceeded to veer off the roadway and onto the grassy shoulder to the right, where it struck a tree.

The driver and sole occupant of the pickup truck sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The report stated that he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.

The crash remains under investigation, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
