Katherine C. York

Katherine Crosslin York was born on May 24, 1961, in Murfreesboro, TN, to the late Delbert and Charity Crosslin. She entered into eternal rest on August 21, 2024, at Vanderbilt Tullahoma Harton Hospital, surrounded by family.

Those who knew her would agree that Kathy was outspoken, strong-willed and loving. She grew up in a busy household, as one of nine siblings. As a child, she became a member of Hattie’s Chapel Baptist Church in Rutherford County.

Kathy’s absolute pride and joy were her son and grandsons. They were her world, and she would do anything she could for them. As babies, she called them Precious so often that they referred to her as Precious as well. It was only in more recent years that they began to call her Granny.

In addition to her parents, Kathy is preceded in death by her late husband Lee York and siblings Rollie D. Crosslin, Ruby Crosslin Tucker, Patsy Crosslin Turner & Judy Crosslin Lovvorn. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son Bobby (Shavon) Dixon & grandsons Xion, Xamarion & Xykaiah Dixon, all of Wartrace, TN; siblings Jimmy Crosslin, Peggy (James) Williams, Randy (Frances) Crosslin, all of Shelbyville, TN, and Tommy (Rosemary) Crosslin of Unionville, TN; several nieces and nephews, and special neighbors & friends Ronnie and Barbara Hord.
