34-year-old woman indicted for distribution, possession of child porn

A 34-year-old Osceola County woman was indicted last week on multiple counts of distributing, receiving, and possessing child pornography.

On Friday, August 30, U.S. Attorney Roger B. Handberg announced the return of an indictment charging St. Cloud resident Jessica Corin Mangano with two counts of distributing, two counts of receiving, and one count of possessing child sexual abuse material.

The indictment alleges that on July 2, 2024, Mangano distributed multiple videos containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM). On July 14 and August 2, 2024, she also allegedly received videos that contained CSAM.

On August 15, 2024, Mangano allegedly possessed CSAM that “involved a young child and a child who had not attained 12 years of age.”

An indictment is merely a formal charge that a defendant has committed one or more violations of federal criminal law. Every defendant is presumed innocent unless, and until, proven guilty.

If convicted, Mangano faces a minimum mandatory penalty of 5 years, up to 20 years, in federal prison for each distribution and receipt offense, and up to 20 years behind bars for the possession offense.

This case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office. It will be prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Kaley Austin-Aronson.

Additionally, this case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in 2006 by the Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
