Frank Perito

Frank departed this life peacefully at Advent Health Hospice Care Wing, August 22, 2024. Although his mind was as strong as ever; sadly, his body had been on the decline for the last 2 1⁄2 years. Marian, his devoted wife of 63 years, and immediate family were by his side.

Frank’s birthplace was The Bronx, New York. He attended the School of Industrial Arts located in downtown Manhattan; followed by 2 years at Fordham University. With a passion for people and retail, he embarked on a journey that including working mostly for Jordan Marsh. While with Jordan Marsh, he opened their Altamonte Springs location, was the General Manager of the Colonial Plaza store, and served as President of the Colonial Plaza Merchant Association.

Frank was a strong role model for his sons: Stephen, Jeffrey, and Phillip, grandchildren; Bianca, Adam, Dominic and Christina, and nieces: Sharon and Patricia. He had a long list of friends and treated every one of them like family.

Frank was extremely creative, and he expanded on that creativity through a course in culinary cooking and stained glass. When nothing was planned for dinner, he would gather items from the refrigerator and pantry, and make a 5-star meal. He created several stained glass works of art; one is on display behind the Altar in the Rectory at Saint Mary Magdalen Church Altamonte Springs Fl. He would rummage through boxes of decorations and design a gorgeous center piece for family gatherings.

Frank, for many years, was an active member of Saint Mary Magdalen Church, their Men’s Club, and The Knights of Columbus. He served as an Honor Guard on countless occasions. He served as President of the Bishop Moore Home and School Board. His legacy includes founding the first auction, which is presently known as the Legacy Gala.

Frank had a love for the arts. So much so, he participated as a board member of the Center Florida Civic Center at Loch Haven Park and the original Southern Ballet.

Both he and Marian have been long-term supporters of Morning Star School for Special Children.
