A man who founded a special needs program in Central Florida was arrested this week and charged with sexually abusing minors.
On Wednesday, September 4, the founder of the Special Needs Advocacy Program (SNAP), identified as 62-year-old James “Jamie” Grover, was arrested by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) following a search of his home in Deltona and his workplace at the Seminole Town Center Mall in Sanford.
SNAP’s website states that the nonprofit organization “provides opportunities to the special needs communities that are not always funded through Local, State & Federal programs.”
According to the FBI, investigators believe that Grover has been targeting young boys since 2010 while working at SNAP. During that time, Grover also served as the group director of Autism on the Seas, an international organization that provides cruise vacation services to accommodate adults and families living with autism, Down syndrome, and other related disabilities.
No further details were provided by law enforcement regarding the allegations against Grover.
