Lucky John Hullender Sr., aged 74, passed away on August 25, 2024, in Orlando, Florida. Born on July 13, 1950, in Toombs County, Georgia. Lucky was known for his love of the outdoors and his generous spirit.
He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve for a total of six years, where he forged bonds and learned skills that would stay with him forever. In 1983, Lucky married the love of his life, Joyce Hullender.
Lucky spent his career as a Foreman in Construction, where his dedication and craftsmanship earned him respect and admiration. His career in construction allowed him to contribute tangibly to building the Orlando community, a source of great pride for him.
An avid outdoorsman, Lucky found peace and joy in hunting, fishing, Nascar racing and working in his vegetable garden. He had a unique ability to see potential where others saw none, often turning one person’s trash into another’s treasure. His hands were never idle, always tinkering with a newfound project.
Lucky was a beloved figure in his community, known for his generosity and willingness to lend a hand. He spent many happy hours in his favorite chair outside, enjoying the simple pleasures of fresh air and good company.
He is survived his Sister: Sally Thomas & Glenn Garrett. His Children: Duke Hullender Sr., Kelly Robinson, Christopher & Danielle Hullender, Cassandra Hullender & Danny Minervini; and a host of grandchildren: Tiffany Brantley, Nikki Hullender, Duke Hullender Jr., Gregory Robinson, Lauren Robinson, Vincent Hullender, Zoe Hullender, Jordan Kelly, Jocelyn Minervini, Daxton Minervini, Joella Minervini, and Jayce Minervini. Lucky also leaves behind four great-grandchildren who will miss his stories and warmth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hullender; son, Lucky Hullender Jr.; and mother-in-law, Opal James.
Lucky John Hullender Sr. will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His laughter, love, and enduring spirit will continue to inspire us all. May he rest in eternal peace.
